Skin Cancer Takes Friends

May is skin cancer awareness month. Olay & the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery along with Las Vegas Dermatology asked the public to get screened through the, "Skin Cancer Takes Friends" campaign. Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the world. In the U.S., there are 1 million new cases of non-melanoma skin cancer per year & 1/3 of all cancers of all types are skin cancers- the numbers are greater than for any other cancer- breast, GI, prostate, etc.

Las Vegas Dermatology has completed its complimentary in office skin cancer screenings for this year. Although May has passed, it is still important to be screened, call our office today if you have a suspicious lesion or skin concern for an appointment- (702) 456-3120.

Dr. Greenberg provided a lecture at the Tumor Board at Summerlin hospital on 6/5/08, entitled "Skin Cancer- Prevention, Diagnosis and Management- a practical approach". A background on the different types of skin cancers and alternative therapies for skin cancer were discussed.

See video of Dr. Greenberg and the NBC News 3 Team at Noon- filmed 5/7/2008, where Dr. Greenberg was asked about skin cancer fact or fiction in a live interview with Mitch Truswell.
